Building on Georgetown's healthcare legacy since 1985
Our work is rooted in Georgetown's healthcare history, dating back to the founding of Georgetown Health Foundation in 1985. Today, we continue that legacy by funding nonprofit organisations that provide critical safety net services, from primary healthcare to emergency shelter.
Years of Service

We know health is not just about doctor visits. It is also about the factors that shape well-being, like stable housing, reliable food access, and strong social support. That is why we focus on the broader social determinants of health for our neighbours experiencing challenges to access the resources they need.
Safe and affordable housing provides the foundation for good health and family stability.
Nutritious food is essential for physical health, mental wellness, and childhood development.
Community connections and support networks are vital for mental health and overall well-being.
Since 1985, Georgetown Health Foundation has been committed to measurable outcomes that transform lives in our community.
Our strategic funding priorities address the most pressing health needs in Georgetown and Williamson County.
We fund community health centers and clinics that provide essential primary care services to uninsured and underinsured residents, including annual checkups, vaccinations, chronic disease management, and preventive screenings.
Mental health is healthcare. We support organizations providing counseling, therapy, crisis intervention, and substance abuse treatment to community members who might otherwise go without care.
Georgetown's growing senior population has unique health needs. We fund programs that help older adults age with dignity, maintain independence, and stay connected to their community.
Healthy children become healthy adults. We invest in programs that support children's physical, mental, and developmental health, as well as resources that strengthen families.
Four decades of dedication to improving community health in Georgetown.
Georgetown Health Foundation was established with a mission to improve community health and well-being through strategic grantmaking.
Launched our first structured grantmaking program, funding local nonprofits focused on primary healthcare access for underserved populations.
Recognizing the growing need, we expanded funding to include mental health services, becoming one of the first local foundations to prioritize behavioral health.
Adopted a holistic approach to health by funding programs addressing social determinants—housing, food security, and transportation to healthcare.
Rapidly mobilized emergency funding to support COVID-19 response efforts, providing over $500,000 in crisis grants to help partners adapt and serve the community.
Celebrating 40 years of service, we now distribute over $7 million annually to 50+ partner organizations, reaching 25,000+ community members each year.
Behind every statistic is a real person whose life has been changed through our community partnerships.
"When I was diagnosed with diabetes without insurance, I thought I had no options. A GHF-funded clinic gave me free care and taught me how to manage my condition. Two years later, my A1C is normal and I feel healthier than ever."
"Our teenage son was struggling with severe anxiety and we couldn't afford therapy. Through a GHF-supported program, he received six months of counseling. Today, he's back in school and looking forward to the future."
"As a 72-year-old veteran on a fixed income, I struggled to afford my heart medications. A prescription assistance program helped me access what I needed. I haven't missed a dose in two years."
"Emma couldn't see the board at school and we couldn't afford glasses. The school vision program gave her a free eye exam and her first pair of glasses. Her grades improved immediately—she just needed to see!"
"When my husband lost his job, we faced eviction. An emergency assistance program funded by GHF helped us stay in our home while we got back on our feet. That stability kept our family together."
"I had a tooth infection that was causing unbearable pain, but no insurance. A community dental clinic removed the infected tooth and treated me for free. They literally saved my life—it could have become septic."
We are committed to responsible stewardship of every dollar entrusted to us.
